Pragmatic Bear is me. I build small open-source tools for developers, and I build and run websites for local businesses. There's no team behind the curtain and no account manager. When you email, I'm the one who answers.

I also have a day job. Since 2023 I've been the website administrator for an international pest control company, where I look after more than ten commercial and residential brand sites. Before that I worked on the web side of a hotel chain, a professional golf league, and a regional grocer.

Years of live sites taught me what breaks. Checkout goes down on a Saturday, alerts fire for nothing, and a clever setup nobody else understands becomes a problem at two in the morning. So I build for predictable behavior, small footprints, and failures you can see coming.

The tools came out of that work. cubtoken trims what Claude Code sends to the model, so sessions cost less. Bearpaws gives AI coding agents a disciplined way to plan, build, and check their work. LinkSentinel finds broken internal links on WordPress sites before visitors do. All three are open source.

The websites came out of it too. Precision Wraps Jax, a vehicle-wrap shop here in Jacksonville, runs on a site I designed, built, and still maintain. It's the clearest picture of what I'd build for you.

Because of the day job, I take on a few client projects at a time. That keeps each one close: I write the code, I watch the site after launch, and I answer the email myself.
